MATERIALS HANDLING AND STRUCTURAL EQUIPMENT

For the ports of the Central Queensland coast we fabricate, machine and refurbish materials handling and structural equipment, and carry out on and offshore repairs to industrial and marine coating specifications.

Stacker reclaimers, silos, surge bins, rotary breakers, crushers and screens and structural steel are all named fabrication work. A conveyor pulley drum comes in worn and goes back with a new shell on a freshly machined shaft.

Painting sits in the same building as fabrication and machining, so a refurbished assembly is blasted and coated before it is loaded out, by trade accredited painters, with QA documentation as required.

AT THE BERTH, OR ON THE HARDSTAND

Shipping, on and offshore, is named work for our Field Division. Crews travel to the vessel or the berth for repairs and maintenance painting, and the same QA documentation applies there as in the shop.

Where the work comes to us instead, 30,000 square metres of hardstand takes the component and the plant that moves it, next to a fabrication building 90 m long and 16 m high with access for loads up to 10 m wide and 35 m long.

Low loaders to 50 tonnes, heavy rigid tilt trays, prime movers on flat and drop deck trailers and Franna cranes run 24/7, with hire cranes from 20 to 275 tonnes for the lift at either end.
