QUEENSLAND'S MOST COMPREHENSIVE INDUCTION HARDENING FACILITY

ABC Heavy Engineering has the most modern and comprehensive commercial induction hardening facility in Queensland. We harden slew bearings, rope drums and sheaves, shafts, pins and bushes, load rollers and drive sprockets to deliver wear-resistant surfaces with a tough core.

Alongside induction hardening, our computerised gas-fired oven handles stress relieving and normalising, essential after heavy welding and fabrication. The full heat-treatment service is available commercially to external customers, not only to our own workshop.

PROCESS CONTROL

Process parameters are matched to the component, the steel and the duty, from shallow, high-frequency cases on small pins to deep, lower-frequency cases on heavy raceways.

Is the service available to outside customers?

Yes. The full heat-treatment service, induction hardening and oven work alike, is available commercially to external customers, not only to our own workshop.

What case depths and hardness can you achieve?

Case depths of 3 to 15 mm and surface hardness up to 60 HRC, using induction units from 200 kW to 400 kW at frequencies of 3 to 10 kHz. Process parameters are matched to the component, the steel and the duty.

What is the oven used for?

Stress relieving and normalising, essential after heavy welding and fabrication. The computerised gas-fired oven measures 6.5 × 5.5 × 2.7 m high and runs to 800°C.
